Agent Reach connects research across platforms
One open-source capability layer helps agents choose and check tools for web, social, video, GitHub, and RSS research.
Agent Reach aims to save the setup work behind cross-platform research. It selects and checks upstream tools for websites, X, XiaoHongShu, Bilibili, Reddit, YouTube, GitHub, RSS, and other sources, then lets an agent use those tools directly. Its documentation currently lists fifteen rows of sources and search capabilities; the shared post’s “14 platforms” is a snapshot, not a permanent limit.
A creator reported collecting and summarizing XiaoHongShu comments in ten seconds. That is a personal example, not a repeatable speed benchmark. Actual access depends on the platform, account session, network, and available backend. Agent Reach does not grant permission to ignore a site’s rules or remove authentication requirements.
What the tool does
Agent Reach is a capability layer above individual readers and CLIs. It helps choose, install, diagnose, and route the right upstream tool. Its doctor command reports what is ready and what still needs setup, so a research agent can avoid guessing why a source failed.
Access differs by platform
Public GitHub repositories, web pages, YouTube subtitles, Bilibili search, and RSS can be available with little setup. X search, Reddit, and XiaoHongShu may require a valid login, cookies, or an existing user-controlled browser session. The project’s own table documents these differences; one install command does not make every source immediately accessible.
Try a narrow, verifiable research task
Pick one public topic and ask the agent to collect a few items from two supported sources, include links and dates, and explain missing results. Compare those links with the original pages. For logged-in sources, configure access yourself, keep credentials local, and check each platform’s terms and rate limits.
Understand the cost claim
The repository and many underlying tools are open source, and several paths have no API fee. A paid proxy, hosting, model usage, or account access may still add cost. Treat “free” as a property of the chosen setup rather than a guarantee for every workflow.
