Turn three dance clips into a 15-second motion graphics showreel

A three-step chain of pose images, short dance clips, and an Opus 5.5 edit, driven by a prompt framed as a résumé showreel.

The Japanese creator AbaneChan shared a short workflow on X for a 15-second motion graphics video built around their character. The poses come from an image model, the movement from a video model, and the final motion design from Claude Opus 5.5 working with the clips.

The prompt adapts one posted by @shneural, who gave Opus 5.5 and GPT 6 Astra the same request and preferred the Opus result. That comparison is one person’s impression from a single prompt, not a benchmark.

The three steps

First, generate three key dance poses as still images with GPT sol. Second, turn them into three six-second dance clips with Grok. Third, give all three clips to Opus 5.5 and ask for a 15-second motion graphics video with the character’s name as its title.

Why the prompt works

Instead of listing effects, the request asks the model to show how good a motion designer it is, as if making the showreel it would attach to a résumé, and to hold nothing back. Stating the purpose tells the model who the audience is and what quality bar to aim for. A reply to the post singled out that one line of purpose as the part doing the work.

TRY THIS PROMPT

From the three attached dance clips, make a 15-second motion graphics piece that demonstrates everything you can do as a motion designer. Think of it as the reel you would send with a job application, and push it as far as you can. Title: [title].

What to check

Short generated clips can drift in costume details, hands, or faces from shot to shot. Review each clip before handing them over, and cut anything off-model. Use a character you own or have permission to use.
